Looking at the state of things in most of the countries in the world today one may begin to wonder why so many things are the way they are.You may ask me how are they? With a special reference to our educational system,we lack sense of professionalism. What we merely regard as the professional disciplines are very few.An average young school leaver for instance knows that courses like medicine and surgery, banking and finance, all sorts of engineering, accountancy exists and as such disregards fields like natural sciences, agricultural sciences and some humanities. They often forget that some courses are product of the metamorphosis of other courses like physics metamorphosized into what we have now as engineering of all sort.Be it mechanical, electrical, chemical, civil, agricultural, petrochemical computer engineering and all-worth-nots.It is pertinent to know that mechanical engineering is an offshoot of the field of mechanics in physics. Also electrical engineering and computer engineering are products of the field of electricity and electronics in physics. The ground works of the fore-fathers of physics like James Clark Maxwell, Michael Faraday Henry Bequerel etc in the field of thermodynamics brought to light the effects of magnetism in an electric field and therefore apparently made the development of electromagnetism thermodynamic engineering a success.
You may wonder why very few students embrace those courses.I cannot but give a single and concise reason for this development.Your guess is as good as mine.
